7 exercises to boost your morning energy.

How you start your morning can shape the rest of your day. You don't need an hour at the gym or fancy equipment to wake up your body. You just need a few intentional minutes of movement.

Research consistently shows that even a short bout of exercise can increase circulation, improve focus, elevate mood, and boost energy by releasing feel-good chemicals like endorphins. Movement also helps loosen stiff muscles after sleep and signals to your brain that it's time to wake up.

Try this simple bodyweight routine that you can do anywhere. Complete each exercise for 45 seconds, resting for 15 seconds between moves. Repeat the circuit once if you have extra time.

1. March in Place (or High Knees) | Get your heart pumping and increase blood flow throughout your body.

2. Bodyweight Squats | Wake up your legs and glutes while improving lower-body strength and mobility.

3. Wall or Floor Push-Ups | Strengthen your chest, shoulders, arms, and core while encouraging good posture.

4. Bird Dogs | From hands and knees, extend your opposite arm and leg. This move activates your core, improves balance, and supports a healthy back.

5. Glute Bridges | Strengthen the muscles that support your hips and lower back. This is especially helpful if you spend much of your day sitting.

6. "World's Greatest Stretch" | Step into a lunge, place one hand on the floor, and rotate your chest toward your front leg. This dynamic stretch improves hip, spine, and shoulder mobility.

7. Standing Reach and Deep Breathing | Finish by reaching overhead as you inhale and lowering your arms as you exhale. Take five slow, deep breaths to energize both your body and mind before you begin your day.

In just 7 minutes, you have increased your heart rate, activated your muscles, improved mobility, and set yourself up for a more energized day.
