Hi love,

February lives in a quiet in-between. It feels past the beginning of winter, with the cold snaps and crunchy leaves still underfoot, but it isn't yet at spring's arrival. It's a threshold -- a soft doorway between what has been resting and what is slowly, almost imperceptibly, preparing to rise. If you look closely, you can feel it: a subtle shift in the light, a hint of warmth in the air, the quiet sense that something is changing beneath the surface, even if you can't see it yet.

Nature doesn't rush this moment, and you don't have to either. Late winter is a season of hidden preparation. Roots are strengthening underground. Seeds are gathering what they need before they ever think about sprouting. Nothing is forcing growth; everything is making space for it. There is wisdom in that space. In yoga, we practice honoring the pause between breaths, the stillness between movements, the integration that happens after effort. This part of the season carries that same invitation: to prepare gently rather than push prematurely.

You might notice a part of you starting to stir -- an idea, a desire, a flicker of energy returning. You don't have to act on it yet. You can simply acknowledge it, like noticing the first signs of dawn without needing the sun to be fully risen. This is the time for quiet clearing, soft organizing, and subtle tending. Not a dramatic transformation, but a compassionate making of space -- in your schedule, in your body, and in your thoughts.

The spring equinox will come, as it always does. Growth will happen, as it always does. You don't have to force what already knows how to unfold. For now, it's enough to trust that something within you is gently preparing, even if all you're being asked to do is listen, soften, and allow.

Gentle Detoxification Flow

It's time to gently begin to let go of the sluggishness of winter and invite in the brightness and energy of spring.

To begin detoxing from your winter season, try adding twists to quite literally "wring out" the old. Poses like supine spinal twist (Jathara parivartanasana), half lord of fishes (Ardha matsyendrasana), and revolved chair (Parivrtta Utkatasana) are all great options.

Add in side bends to invite more space into your body -- standing side bend from mountain (Parsva urdhva Hastasana) is a great way to encourage this opening.

To ground while inviting in more movement and stretching, try some low lunges (Anjaneyasana), or for something even more energetic, start your practice with a Sun Salutation (Surya namaskar).

Be sure to hydrate after your sequence to further encourage your detoxification, and give yourself a lengthy savasana to rest. You can start or end your practice with gentle kapalabhati breath (exhale sharply through both nostrils by contracting your lower belly; for the inhale, allow the abdominal muscles to relax to let the air flow in naturally without effort), or just slow, cleansing breaths.

Rituals for This Weekend

Clear one space in your room. This can be your altar, your nightstand, your yoga space, or wherever else is feeling cluttered and ready for space. Make space for the new season and what is coming to you.

Journal or ask yourself: What are you making room for, without rushing it?

You are light. You are love. You are enough.
