What’s in your cup?

A cup of coffee, tea, or your favorite beverage can be more than just a way to hydrate or caffeinate. With the right ingredients, your everyday drinks can also be an opportunity to incorporate herbs, adaptogens, antioxidants, and micronutrients into your routine.

That doesn't mean every drink needs to become a complicated wellness concoction. Sometimes, it's as simple as adding an ingredient you already enjoy and learning a little more about what it brings to the table.

Cinnamon -- Beyond adding warmth and flavor, cinnamon contains plant compounds with antioxidant activity. Try adding a sprinkle to coffee, chai, oat milk smoothies, or hot chocolate.

Ginger -- Fresh or dried ginger brings a spicy, warming flavor and contains bioactive compounds called gingerols and shogaols. Add fresh ginger to tea, smoothies, or sparkling water for a little extra zing.

Cacao -- Unsweetened cacao powder provides minerals like magnesium and contains flavonoids (plant compounds with anitoxidant properties). Try blending it into a smoothie, latte, or warm milk of your choice.

Turmeric -- Turmeric contains curcumin and other compounds that have been studied for their antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. A little turmeric can add earthy flavor and vibrant color to golden milk, smoothies, or tea.

And there's a whole world of ingredients to explore beyond these few!

If you've ever wondered what all those herbs, adaptogens, antioxidants, and micronutrients actually do -- or if you simply want to taste something new -- join us for Brews & Brainwaves at CoffeeBar Bel Air on Thursday, October 22nd from 6-8 PM.

Throughout the evening, Tyler will guide you through the ingredients featured in four unique beverages, sharing what they are, how they may support mental and physical well-being, and practical ways to incorporate them into everyday life.

And there's a twist: the drinks will be served deconstructed, giving you the chance to mix, layer, and customize them to your own taste!

Come curious, hungry for knowledge, and ready to sip something a little different. We would love to see you there!
