When someone you love is diagnosed with cancer, it's natural to focus on their needs. You coordinate appointments, help manage medications, prepare meals, offer emotional support, and do your best to make a difficult time a little easier.
But in the process, who's taking care of you?
Caregiving can be meaningful, but it can also be exhausting. Between disrupted routines, financial concerns, emotional stress, and the pressure to stay strong for someone else, caregivers can find themselves running on empty. Asking for help may feel difficult, especially when you believe your loved one's needs should come first.
But here's your reminder: you deserve care and support, too.
Cancer affects more than the person receiving the diagnosis. It touches partners, parents, children, friends, and everyone helping navigate the journey.
That's why we are proud to support Cancer LifeNet at University of Maryland Upper Chesapeake. Cancer LifeNet offers more than 300 free supportive programs to individuals with cancer and their loved ones throughout Harford and Cecil counties, regardless of where they receive treatment. These resources help ensure that caregivers and family members don't have to navigate the emotional and practical challenges of cancer alone.
At Evolve Wellness, we recognize that caring for others can take a toll on your own well-being. Our psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner, Jen, offers caregiver support to help you navigate stress, emotional exhaustion, and the challenges of caring for a loved one.
October is almost over, and this is the final week of the Paint the Town Pink 2026 promotion! Evolve is proud to be an official sponsor supporting Cancer LifeNet. There's still time to participate:
Shop pink: Purchase one of our featured pink and women's wellness products at Evolve Apothecary. 100% of the profits from these products will be donated to Cancer LifeNet.
Donate: Make a direct contribution through our website to help support Cancer LifeNet's free programs for patients and their loved ones.
Every purchase and donation helps support our community.
And if you are a caregiver yourself, let this be your reminder to extend some of that compassion toward you. You don't have to do everything alone, and you don't have to earn the right to rest.
