A gentle winter check-in…

Winter invites us into a slower rhythm.

The days are quieter, the nights longer, and nature reminds us that rest is not something to earn -- it's something to honor. In many traditions, winter is a yin season, a time for inward focus, gentle reflection, and deep nourishment. It's a season of restoration, even when the world around us keeps moving fast.

The Snow Moon, arriving on February 1st, carries this same energy. Named for the heavy snows of midwinter, it asks us to soften, to conserve, and to tend to what's happening beneath the surface. Rather than pushing forward, this moon encourages us to pause and listen.

If you're feeling called to slow down, here are two simple Snow Moon-aligned rituals you can try at home:

Warmth & Stillness Ritual

Make a warm drink (tea, broth, or cacao), sit somewhere comfortable, and allow yourself 5-10 minutes of stillness. No phone, no to-do list -- simply notice your breath and the warmth in your body.

Gentle Reflection Prompt

By candlelight or soft lighting, journal on this question: What feels heavy right now, and what would feel supportive instead? There's no need to fix anything. Just notice and name.

If you would like to deepen this experience, we invite you to join our Virtual Snow Moon Ceremony on February 1st from 6-6:30 PM. This guided, 30-minute ceremony will include intentional ritual and reflection designed to help you rest, reset, and reconnect with yourself during this quiet season. A recording will be sent to all participants.

Good to know: This Snow Moon Ceremony (and all future moon ceremonies) are included in the Ritual & Reflection Tier of our new Virtual Yoga Program, along with additional supportive offerings.

Whether you join us live, watch the replay, or simply honor the Snow Moon in your own way, we hope this season brings you moments of ease, warmth, and gentle care.
